Bringing Clarity to a Complex Landscape
For many businesses, automation is no longer a question of if but how. Yet with so many technologies and options available, knowing where to start can be daunting. Samir’s mission is to simplify that process—ensuring every customer understand the possibilities, plan and integrate automation with confidence.
We sat down with Samir to dive into his approach to automation – here’s what he had to say.
What led you to a career in warehouse technology and automation?
“For me, it’s always been about solving complex problems at scale. Early in my career I saw how technology—especially automation—could completely change operational performance. From there, I leaned into projects where the right mix of robotics, software, and process design could unlock speed, safety, and accuracy in ways traditional approaches couldn’t match.”
How do you see your role shaping the future of local businesses?
“I see it as connecting the dots—bringing Tier 1 automation capability to local businesses in a way that’s accessible, practical, and commercially sound. If we can help local operators move faster, be more adaptable, and compete on a bigger stage without burning unnecessary capital, then we’ve done more than deliver technology—we’ve strengthened the backbone of Australian industry.”
What principles drive your approach to warehouse solution design?
“Every design needs to be scalable, flexible, and rooted in operational reality. That means starting with how the customer actually works today, modelling where they need to be in five years, and ensuring every system has the agility to adapt in between. It’s a balance of technical precision, human usability, and commercial sense.”
How will you integrate sustainability into automation at Safer Storage Systems?
“I believe sustainability shouldn’t be a bolt-on—ideally it should to be engineered in from day one. That means designing systems that use less energy, optimise space, reduce waste, and extend the usable life of assets. The beauty is, in most cases, the same principles that drive sustainability also improve efficiency and reduce costs, so it’s about finding that sweet spot where environmental and commercial goals work in sync.”
What excites you most about joining Safer Storage Systems?
“Safer Storage Systems has a rare quality in this industry – it delivers on its word. In a space crowded with noise and hype, that’s worth a lot. I’m excited to join a team that doesn’t just follow trends but builds solutions designed to last. The combination of proven delivery, deep customer trust, and a bold approach to innovation—backed by their in-house racking manufacturing capabilities (seriously, any customer should see the level of engineering precision firsthand)—creates the perfect environment to deliver automation projects with both immediate impact and lasting value.”
