Safer Storage Systems partnered with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics to deliver a high-performance, sustainable pallet racking solution at their new Green Star-rated Truganina facility. The 45-day project featured 18,678 pallet locations using Australian-made Silverline® Pallet Racking—saving over 72 tonnes of CO₂. The comprehensive scope included traffic planning, safety features, and streamlined project management for a seamless handover.

When planning their 5-Star Green Star-rated facility in Truganina, Hellmann needed a partner who could deliver a sustainable, high-performance storage solution—one that met tight deadlines without compromising on safety or quality.
The Storage Solution
Leveraging our strengths in local manufacturing, short lead times, and experienced project delivery, Safer Storage Systems designed and delivered a storage solution to align with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics’ operational requirements and sustainability goals.
The pallet racking solution features 18,678 selective pallet positions of our Silverline® Pallet Racking rated to 1,200kg per pallet location, offering a high-strength, Australian-made solution with significantly reduced emissions.
Silverline® Pallet Racking offers an 85% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to imported pallet racking alternatives, which meant this project prevented over 72 tonnes of carbon from entering the atmosphere. It would take over 3,500 mature trees to offset that CO2 over one year when comparing to imported products
The layout was carefully designed to ensure efficient pallet flow, maximising capacity while maintaining accessibility. With the added benefit of 11 metre, single-piece uprights to maximise the warehouse height for storage locations without additional costs or complications with shipping and splicing.
In a further commitment to sustainability, mesh decks were repurposed from Hellmann Worldwide Logistics’ existing site – helping to reduce waste and further support circular economy initiatives.

Beyond the Racking
Safer Storage System delivered more than just pallet racking. We provided a complete solution for this brand-new facility, helping to streamline implementation.
The comprehensive scope included:
- Traffic management plan
- Line marking
- Armco barriers and racking guards
- Warehouse labels and signage
- Securing permits & coordinating with fire sprinkler installations
By managing these additional elements, Safer Storage Systems ensured a cohesive and efficient installation process that supported both operational readiness and safety compliance.
Seamless Project Execution
Delivering a project of this scale on a tight schedule took meticulous planning and precise execution.
Safer Storage Systems had materials manufactured and delivered to site within just 17 days of project confirmation—setting a strong foundation for success. The 45-day program was carefully managed with weekly progress updates and flexible labour resourcing to match key milestones.
Throughout the installation, the team remained agile, adapting to scope changes without losing momentum. Safer Storage Systems’ project manager, Jazmyn Wray, worked closely with Charmaine Camilleri, Head of Contract Logistics at Hellmann Australia, to keep communication clear and consistent. Jazmyn’s expert coordination ensured all trades operated seamlessly and the project was delivered on time with great results.
