Coca-Cola Europacific Partners is one of the largest bottlers and distributors of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages in Australia. For over 117 years, they have been producing some of the country’s most loved brands including Coca-Cola, Kirks, Mount Franklin, Pump, Powerade and Barista Bros. to name a few.
CCEP had identified that their existing 35,000 sqm operational facility in Moorabbin required greater capacity. Yet, with minimal footprint to work with, the standard approach would simply fall short. They required a system which would maximise the vertical space and provide the greatest number of pallet spaces – all while increasing storage efficiency for faster load/unload times.
The solution: ASRS
In partnership with a systems integrator, Safer Storage Systems designed, developed and installed an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS), integrating our locally made SSS SILVERLINE® Racking.
ASRS, or Crane Racking as it is otherwise known, offers efficient, high-density storage for a large variety of pallets. With narrow aisles and heights of more than 30 metres, the cranes automatically position and extract the pallets, delivering each item to the front of the racking, making it safe, fast and accurate.
The ASRS solution developed for CCEP is a multi-deep Pallet Racking solution with over 12,000 pallet position, including a gantry walkway suspended from the building structure. The walkway required additional building engineering, walkway engineering and building permits to proceed – arranged by the SSS team prior to commencing construction.
The highest safety standards
With limited space on site, material deliveries were sequenced to ensure ample access and uncluttered workspace.
To ensure the CCEP team were able to continue operating in other areas of the facility, the new storage system also required safety fencing and separate access during the construction phase.
Reduced carbon footprint
Utilising SSS SILVERLINE® racking in this project means CCEP have saved over 50 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere (which would require over two and a half thousand trees to be planted to offset the emissions).

The result
Integrating locally made SSS SILVERLINE® Pallet Racking with state-of-the-art automation technology, Safer Storage Systems delivered a complete storage system for CCEP which increased their pallet storage capacity within their existing space.
